Course Description
This presentation reviews current operational challenges healthcare customers face, defines the
characteristics of lean manufacturing and discusses their current application in selected healthcare
facilities who have engaged these processes to improve operational efficiency.

- Review the current and future operational challenges facing healthcare facilities.
- Define the basic characteristics of lean manufacturing techniques and how they are implemented.
- Review physical impact on facility of lean techniques.
- Review selected healthcare facilities that have implemented lean techniques in their facilities.
